EGAT's labor union asks Prime Minister to postpone privatization plan.

Section: Business News - The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT)'s labor union members today submitted a letter to Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, asking him to make a final decision on the postponement of the privatization of the authority.

Sirichai Mai-ngam, leader of the labor union, said that more than 10,000 staff had rallied in the authority's headquarter waiting for an answer from EGAT's Governor Sitthiporn Ratanopas on whether the privatization would be indefinitely postponed.

He said the union had given a deadline for the governor to give an answer and clarification at noon.
