Finally recovered from a botched computer conversion in 1998, Grambling State University LA received its first clean audit in three years and won back its accreditation in December 2003.
Accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools meant Grambling students could maintain their eligibility for Pell grants, student loans and other federal financial aid, which about 97% of its students now receive.
Working together to save Grambling were two very powerful women and a host of other dedicated people.
