It's the quintessential David and Goliath story. Small, grassroots nonprofit network takes on big, bad behemoth and wins--repeatedly.

That describes WAGE (We Advocate Gender Equity), a small, grassroots California-based nonprofit that supports academic women struggling with discrimination. Its mission: "To end gender bias and achieve gender equity in the education, hiring, retention, promotion and compensation of women in the academic community within the University of California and other academic institutions."
