Many teachers of wind instruments at both the private and university levels know the value of like-instrument ensembles. Ending a studio recital with a flute choir, trombone choir, trumpet choir or other piece is fun for the students and gives younger students a chance to play next to and learn from more experienced ones. Quartets and sextets also are very valuable in group teaching.

This arrangement includes three movements from Grieg's Peer Gynt Suite arranged in six parts. Included are "Morning," "In the Hall of the Mountain King" and "Solveig's Song." The parrs clearly are divided into an upper three that contain the bulk of the melodic material and a lower three consisting mainly of sustained chords and repeated patterns.
