A CHANCE visit to a Brisbane sale nearly two years ago looks set to reap rich rewards for Wanganui owner-trainer Nigel Auret.
Auret had taken the mare Pompeiian Tulip to campaign in Queensland and had no intention of buying a horse.
But he took a liking to a Sea Road yearling at a Magic Millions winter sale on the Gold Coast and forked out A$11,000 to secure him. "He just caught my eye and I took a fancy to him," Auret said.
