Looking at the Braves, it's almost impossible to see them winning their 13th consecutive division rifle. Which, of course, means that they almost certainly will. "Every year, somebody comes up with a reason why the Braves aren't going to be the Braves anymore" Phillies general manager Ed Wade says. "I didn't subscribe to it last winter. I don't subscribe to it now."

Nor should he, even though the Phillies, on paper, clearly are better than Atlanta, and the world champion Marlins might be, too. Even if the Braves falter this season, the strength of their farm system ensures that they won't be down for long.
