* I was disappointed in Gene Upshaw's remarks after President George W. Bush asked all sports leagues to wipe out steroids and other performance-enhancing drugs. Upshaw says the NFL already has dealt with the problem. Yet four Oakland Raiders have flunked steroid tests. Upshaw must have his head in the sand.

* I agree 100 percent with Brian Baldinger's comments about Eli Manning (TSN, January 19). I hope my Bills do whatever it takes to move up and draft him. But I disagree with Joe Buck's take on Brett Favre (TSN, January 26). If Favre is underrated, how did he win three MVP awards? When Favre wins, I hear that he is the best of all-time. But when he loses, it's never his fault.
