Sydney, 11 February 2004 - Gate Gourmet International and Jetstar, Qantas' new low cost carrier, start a direct-to-passenger sales program with the new airline's launch in May 2004. The global airline caterer Gate Gourmet provides food, beverages and merchandise for sale on board of the aircraft.

The new carrier will commence its service with 14 B717 aircraft and will later expand the service with 23 A320's. During the service introduction phase, Gate Gourmet will sell soft drinks and alcoholic beverages, sandwiches, cereals, salads, a large variety of sweet and savoury snacks, and chocolates.
