PC sales in India may attain three million units in 2003- 2004. The MAIT's Industry Performance Review has stated this after a survey of PC sales for the first half of 2003-2004. Sales in the first half have overshot the one million mark. During 2002-2003, PC sales had reached 2.3 million units.

The growth in PC sales can be attributed to higher consumption by telecom, banking and financial service sectors and IT-enabled services, besides digital divide initiatives of the central and state governments.
