DISTRICT chairpersons and municipal mayors attending a workshop in Kampala yesterday resolved to back the cabinet proposal to lift the presidential term limit.

They also supported the opening up of political space.

The decision is among seven resolutions reached at the end of their two-day retreat in Lubaga.

The resolutions were read out to the press by Uganda Local Authorities Association (ULAA) president, Capt. John Emily Otekat (right).

He said their session was a "special meeting that discussed current developments in the political arena in the country."
