Panasonic Mobile Communications Corp. of the Philippines (PMCP) will invest around P500 million this year to expand its handset manufacturing plant in Sta. Rosa, Laguna to meet the growing demand worldwide for cellular phones.

In a press briefing yesterday, PMCP President Reynaldo S. Lico said monthly plant capacity was currently at 500,000 mobile phone units for the Asian, American, Middle Eastern and Oceania markets.
