Rolston wanted to be a scorer, but he has been successful as a checking forward since breaking in with the Devils, who made him the 11th overall pick in 1991. With the Bruins, he has tried to take on a more offensive role, but he has been on the third line more often than not. He started this season with 10 goals in 20 games, but through 47 games, he was on pace for 23.

STRENGHTS: Rolston is durable, playing 81 games last season and 82 the season before. He is versatile; he can play center and wing, kill penalties and play the point on the power play. He is fast and uses that speed to capitalize on turnovers, making him a shorthanded threat. He has a good shot, particularly from the deep slot.
