SEOUL, Jan 30 Asia Pulse - Foreign investors bought US$13.52 billion worth of South Korean securities last year, the largest amount since the capital market opened in 1992, the Bank of Korea said today.
Foreigners bought securities worth US$81.42 billion, while they sold US$67.91 billion in securities.
Their net purchase of securities in 2001 was US$7.51 billion, and which was US$830 million less than they sold in 2002.
The country that made the largest securities investment in South Korea was the United States with US$4.6 billion net, followed by Singapore (US$3.33 billion), Luxembourg (US$1.57 billion) and the United Kingdom (US$660 million).
