MUMBAI, Feb 2 Asia Pulse - Diesel engine manufacturer Cummins India Ltd (CIL) (BSE:CUMM) has posted a 10 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 269.4 million (US$5.94 million) during the third quarter ended December 31, 2003, compared with Rs 244.9 million posted during the same period of the previous fiscal year.
The company's chairman Ravi Venkatesan has resigned from the company, effective April 1, 2004, to pursue a "new opportunity", Cummins India said in a press statement here on Wednesday.
Venkatesan would also relinquish his position as managing director of Tata Cummins Ltd and country head of CIL, it said.
He had put in a total of 17 years with Cummins, of which 7 years were in India, it said.
