Hungary's accession to the EU is likely to boost publicity spending in some sectors as a growing number of international suppliers of goods and services vie for market share
Sectors that will place the greatest upward pressure on ad expenditure include financial services, food, insurance, and pharmaceuticals. Well funded publicity campaigns on the part of foreign food producers will allow them to capture market share from local companies that are generally small and lack the resources for extensive ad campaigns
The two national commercial television channels, RTL Klub and TV2, should benefit in the short term from the upsurge in media spending.
