Consumer confidence began to rebound during the third quarter of 2003 and the generalized improvement should persist through at least the first quarter of this year. At the outset of the fourth quarter of 2003, consumer confidence reached the highest level registered in over a year and that should convert into a modest rebound in sales of consumer durable goods during the first half of 2004
