THE HOLIDAY season in Cebu extends well into January. As we all know, the feast of the Santo Nino brings visitors and devotees in droves. No family was busier than that of Michel and Amparito Lhuillier who organized a series of celebrations.
For one thing, their two daughters were here from abroad. From Paris came Yvette with husband Franck Warnod and their little boy, Maxim. Monique and her husband Tom Bugbee came from California.
As everyone knows, Monique is making a mark in the fashion world with her line of bridal and evening formals that almost every celebrity in the United States is wearing.
For the sisters and their families, there was a formal dinner at Michel and Amparito's home in Kamagong, Lahug. Forty guests occupied two tables elegantly lit by silver candelabras. Most of the food served was cooked at home.
Margie Lhuillier, who came from Las Vegas, was the belle of the party. Amparito's mom, Nita Llamas, was present, and so was Michel's mom, Angelita Jones Lhuillier, who threw another party the next evening at her home in Maria Luisa Park.
