THIS third-class municipality is being promoted as a surfing destination and is fast becoming a favorite of local and foreign tourists. And it helps that it has been cited several times as the cleanest and greenest municipality this side of Surigao del Sur.
But our knowledge of Lanuza is minimal. In a last-minute discussion with the Department of Tourism's Leona Nepomuceno, we are told that a trip requires a well-planned itinerary. The rainy months, when the surf's up, are not favorable for photography, leisure walkers and non-surfing fans.
