(From Philippine Daily Inquirer)
Byline: Nini Valera
SEXY starlet Hanni Miller, whose movie "Puri," is the year's first blockbuster, is facing the biggest battle of her life: cancer.
Hanni, 22, who was paid only P20,000 for the lead role in the movie directed by Buboy Tan and produced by ATB-4 on a shoestring budget, was diagnosed to be suffering from hyper plasia.
According to the doctor she had consulted last week, this is the first stage of ovarian cancer, Hanni said.
She told Inquirer Entertainment last Jan. 22, a day after "Puri" opened in Metro Manila theaters, that she had been bleeding for ten days. When Hanni finally consulted a doctor last Monday, she was told that her ailment was serious and might lead to a radical hysterectomy or removal of her ovaries.
"I cried. I couldn't believe this could happen to me," she said. "When I told my mother (who lives in Hong Kong) about my condition, she also cried. She said I was too young to be this sick, to be not able to have a baby anymore."
