I HEARD the news today, oh boy.

That's a line from The Beatles' song, "A Day In the Life."

I quote that today because the week past, news came out that the Philippine Sports Commission has started ground-breaking moves for the country's preparations in hosting the 2005 SEA Games. It never landed on any page of any sports section in any of the nation's major broadsheets.

I wonder why.

And to think that the SEA Games is a major sports event not only in the country but also in the entire region.
