THE MOMENT the security guard closed the door and refused her entry to the governor's office, Nina Di Nuesca felt the world collapse on her.
Her eyes were drenched with tears as she thought that her simple dream for the little children of her town has found its dead end.
With a solicitation letter in hand, disappointed and with a heavy heart, the 13-year-old girl headed for the stairs down from the second floor of the governor's office.
In her letter, the girl signified her need for at least P30,000 for the restoration of the municipal playground in her hometown, Pikit, site of last year's war between guerrillas of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front and government soldiers.
