4 p.m.-Welcoat vs Fash Liquid (Game 3)

SLOTMAN Francis Mercado, drafted by Red Bull in the PBA this year but wasn't signed, made four free throws in the final 22 seconds to lift Fash Dishwashing to an 84-80 double-overtime victory over Welcoat Paints that tied the PBL Platinum Cup championship series at 1-1 last night at the jampacked San Juan gym.

It was an anti-climactic finale to what has been a classic of a game considering that the 6-foot-4 Mercado only stepped up in the absence of Rich Alvarez who fouled out in the first extension.
