The judicial inquiry into the David Kelly affair was reportedly poised to clear British Prime Minister Tony Blair of wrongdoing in the events that led to the shock suicide of the respected expert on Iraqi weapons systems.

The inquiry, headed by Lord Brian Hutton, was set to sweep away claims that Downing Street "sexed up" intelligence in a September 2002 dossier on Iraq intended to rally public support in the run-up to the Iraq war.

Hutton was scheduled to make public his findings at the Royal Courts of Justice in London at 12:30 pm (1230 GMT), with Blair delivering a statement in parliament afterwards.
