GEOFF PAGE was awarded the Patrick White Prize in 2001 for his thirty-year contribution to Australian literature. His poetry publication includes sixteen collections and two verse novels (the second, Drumming on Water, is in bookshops now). Since his second collection, there has been no more than three years between publications, and his output has accelerated over the last ten years, with seven collections published. He has also published a number of other works including two novels, anthologies and translations. He won the Queensland Premier's Prize for Poetry in 1990, and continues to be widely published in Australian literary magazines.
