PKN Orlen (Poland), oil company, plans to invest EUR 500 mil/y in central and eastern Europe by 2006. In Jan 2004 PKN Orlen submitted a preliminary offer for the purchase of the 63% state stake in the holding petrochemical company Unipetrol (Czech Republic). The result of Unipetrol's privatization will be one of the factors that will influence PKN Orlen's investments in the Czech Republic.
