Kazakh Prime Minister Daniyal Akhmetov has issued an order allocating duties among the prime minister, deputy prime ministers and the director of the prime minister's office. The prime minister is in charge of the leadership activity of the government, represents the government in relations with the president, parliament and the judiciary, and exercises overall control over the key ministries. First Deputy Prime Minister Marchenko deals mainly with economic matters, budget and planning, finance, tax and tariff policy and relations with international financial and economic organizations; Deputy Prime Minister Mynbayev - industry and trade, investment policy, export control, energy, mineral resources and transport; Deputy Prime Minister Akhmetzhan Yesimov - agriculture, environmental issues, rural development, migration and demographic policy.
