GORAKHPUR: Union minister of state for surface transport BC Khanduri was scheduled to lay the foundation stone of the overbridge here on Sunday, but because of the bad weather, his flight was cancelled during the last leg between Lucknow and Gorakhpur and he could not turn up on time. The state's PWD minister Kusum Rai who was scheduled to accompany Major Gen. Khanduri arrived here by road at about 2.30 pm and directly went to spot.

Trouble erupted when her staff asked BJP MP Yogi Adityanath, who was waiting at the spot, not to accompany the minister. Reportedly, it annoyed activists of Hindu Yuva Vahini, who tried to prevent Rai …
