KUALA LUMPUR: While residents of Klang Valley were ushering in Chinese New Year, police in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor were busy raiding shoplots where illegal gaming machines were being stored.

The owners were away at their family reunion dinners, leaving behind sentries to watch over their goods.

The sentries were taken away for questioning.

Police seized machines worth several thousand ringgit.

In Kuala Lumpur, the figures since the start of Ops Rattler at the beginning of the year are startling.

City police have so far seized more than 700 illegal …
