Baykonur, 23 January: The modernization of launch pad No 200 of the Baykonur space launching site, from where modernized heavy Proton-M booster rockets will be launched into geostationary orbit, will be completed on 2 February 2004.

"Following the completion of the modernization of launch pad No 200, the launch of the Proton-M booster rockets at Baykonur will be carried out from two launch pads," the Interfax-Kazakhstan news agency has been told at the Baykonur federal space centre.
