The "extras" mentioned above include excerpts from the rehearsal (including Ms. Bartoli and Mr. Harnoncourt discussing Haydn), plus a short film about the Styriarte Festival founded by Harnoncourt in the city of Graz. A short Mozart piece is also included. While the disc proper offers the three sound options noted above, all of the extras are in standard two-channel PCM sound.
Recording a live concert is always problematical, because decent engineering work may require that microphones interfere with audience pleasures. That does not seem to be the case here, although since this is a "period" instrument ensemble the sound seems thinner and less full bodied than what some listeners might be used to.
