I am tempted to say that this music, a sequel to the ensemble's first release on the Summit label, is going to appeal only to those who play the trombone--and take their playing very seriously. As Summit notes on the back of the album, the first release "was deemed standard listening for all aspiring trombonists by educators and professionals worldwide." However, it is actually going to also appeal to other listeners (including non musicians), simply because it is well played and well recorded, and features some very good musical excerpts.
