This is not a recording that I would recommend to everyone; however, the more musically adventurous among our readership may well want to give this CD a listen. Kim Kashkashian is a violist, and violists are particularly wont to try new music, as there is a scarcity of standard repertoire written with the viola in mind.

On this outing, she teams with composer and pianist Tigran Mansurian (b. 1939) and percussionist Robyn Schulkowksy to play the Armenian music of Komitas (1869-1935) and Mansurian.
