No, this is not a tribute to Lester Young, as those unfamiliar with the Art Ensemble of Chicago might guess from the title; it is rather a tribute to the late Lester Bowie, the Art Ensemble's longtime trumpeter. The group has reassembled as a trio for this recording, with Roscoe Mitchell on various saxes, flutes, and percussion; Malachi Favors Moghostut on bass, whistles, and percussion; and Famoudou Don Moye on drums and all manner of percussion.
