This recording seems destined to become one of those "who'da thunk it?" classical cult best-sellers along the lines of the Nonesuch Gorecki Third Symphony. Like shrewd popular-music producers, the producers of this recording know the value of including a couple of big hits and leading the album off with them so that casual lsitenbers get sucked in right away. In this case, we start off with Samuel Barber's Adagio for Strings music with its Agnus Dei arrangement for chorus. Immediately following is a transcription of the beloved Adagietto from Mahler's Fifth Symphony.
