Oct. 11--BLOUNTSTOWN -- The consolidation quandary in Calhoun County is not reaching its anticipated closure.

Superintendent Mary Sue Neves informed about 150 Calhoun County residents Tuesday night the School Board had elected to form a "diversely populated task force" to study the issue.

Neves said the task force would include herself and School Board chairman Willie Brown, along with teachers and other concerned local residents. It was unclear how people would be selected for the task force.

The board made the move instead of doing what they were scheduled to do during Tuesday night's meeting -- vote on the issue.…
