Some cities around the US and Canada have been issuing summer heat warnings, stating that patients on certain psychiatric drugs are at increased risk of health complications in extreme heat. John Gudeman, medical director at the Mental Health Center and professor of psychiatry at the Medical College of Wisconsin singled out clozapine (Clozaril) as "one of the biggest offenders of all."
