Consumption of even two drinks doubles an individual's risk of injury--and this risk rises exponentially with greater alcohol intake, according to a major new study.

Dr. Daniel C. Vinson reported on 2,517 patients who presented with injuries at any of the three hospital emergency rooms in the Columbia, Mo., area. Participants were interviewed in the ER regarding alcohol consumption within the 6 hours prior to their injury.
