Cabinet has approved two draft royal decrees on town planning and land expropriation for a government project to develop Bangkok's first satellite town.

Deputy Prime Minister Visanu Krue-ngarm said the decrees would allow the government to survey areas earmarked for the project and to fix the project's boundary.

The survey would cover 250,000 rai of land in Nakhon Nayok's Ban Na district and Saraburi's Wihan Daeng and Kaeng Khoi districts.

About 58,000 rai would be needed for construction of the satellite town, Mr Visanu said. A boundary would be fixed to prevent encroachment by people living in the vicinity.
