Elementary Parents Opposed APS Plan
Parents of elementary school children just weren't prepared to send their kids to class earlier so high school students could get more sleep.
As a result, Albuquerque Public Schools officials said Monday they have dropped, for now, a proposal to change school start times.
"We got a clear message from staff and parents that 7:40 a.m. was too early for most elementary schools," APS spokesman Rigo Chavez said Monday, relaying comments from Superintendent Brad Allison.
