WITH unforeseen events affecting travel and tourism worldwide subdued, Tourism Malaysia predicts nothing less than a good year for the industry in 2004, anticipating a good upsurge of tourist arrivals.
Its director-general Datuk Abdullah Jonid said the agency will strive to surpass the achievement and success in 2002, and meet the Government's target as enumerated in the Eighth Malaysia Plan (8MP).
Under the 8MP, the Government expects tourist arrivals to grow at an average rate of 6.9 per cent a year to reach 14.3 million by 2005.
