Byline: ANNE PALMER
A COUPLE subjected to a brutal and vicious attack during an armed robbery at their farm vowed last night to stay in their home despite their ordeal.
Vincent and Jane Maguire are being comforted by family, neighbours and friends as they come to terms with being shot at, tied up, beaten and threatened with being set on fire.
In a bull attack at his farm two years ago, Mr Maguire, who still deals in cattle, suffered a broken neck and is partially disabled - able to move his head only with restricted movement.
The robbers forced their way into his home near Letterbreen, Co Fermanagh, put him in a bath, poured petrol over him and threatened to set him alight.
They also fired a shot in the kitchen.
