A JUDGE hit out yesterday after being told that children in a home in Belfast got high on solvent left by a builder.
In the High Court Mr Justice Coghlin said it was extraordinary that a receptacle of solvent was allowed to remain on the premises despite two requests to have it removed.
The judge's remarks came during a bail application by a 13-year-old boy detained in the home who is accused of assaulting another boy, also 13.
Defence barrister Gareth Purvis said a group of boys had gathered to sniff the solvent which had not been removed or secured despite requests to do so.
