ULSTER women 'with attitude' have once again knocked the stuffing out of TV chefs.

Fresh from last year's success, a group of eight women from Portstewart, Coleraine, Portrush and Limavady, again collated their favourite ''no nonsense'' recipes for 'The Best Home Cookin' Ulster Style'.

And pre-Christmas sales show that local recipes ''which even men could tackle'' have knocked Jamie Oliver and Nigella Lawson off the top spot in bookstores.

Phyllis Fielding, 36, from Portstewart, who helped collate the book said they have been overwhelmed by the sales.

The mother-of-three said she and the other women became friends through their love of cooking. After their first book was published last Christmas, they were inundated with recipes from readers.
