SYDNEY, Jan 1 Asia Pulse - A 2003 Australian equity survey has found that the amount of money raised in initial public offerings on the Australian Stock Exchange more than doubled in 2003 to $A7.8 billion ($US5.83 billion).
The survey by the Hong Kong-based Thomson Financial found that overall raisings surged 56 per cent for the year, with both follow-on and convertible equity issues higher than last year.
Total Australian equity raisings were $33.9 billion for calendar 2003, compared to $21.7 billion last year and the number of issues jumped to 422 from 347.
Thomson said investment bank UBS dominated the bookrunner tables for the year with $7.1 billion for 43 completed deals, equivalent to 20.9 per cent of market share.
