PERTH, Jan 1 Asia Pulse - Shares in junior explorer NiQuest Ltd (ASX:NIQ) hit the boards at a premium last night in the last float for 2003 on the Australian Stock Exchange amid a 14-year high for nickel prices.
The Perth-based company debuted at 26.5 cents, a 6.5 cent premium to its 20 cent issue price in the 124th listing on the ASX for 2003 - and the 96th for the 2003/04 financial year.
It closed trading at 25 cents on a volume of 890,000 after an intraday high of 29 cents.
NiQuest director Rob Greenslade was very pleased with the company's debut which he said would have been partially driven by the price of nickel hitting 14 year highs of $US16,650 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange on Monday.
