OLONGAPO CITY-The rift between Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority Chair Felicito Payumo and Tourism Secretary Richard Gordon over the proposed Subic port development project continues to heat up as supporters of both officials started to resort to a "streamer war."
Streamers hurling derogatory words and calling each camp names were hung along the streets in this city and the entrance of the Subic Bay freeport.
The pro-Gordon streamers, many of which were hung near the freeport, criticized the proposed Subic port project.
Among the streamers' messages are "No way to port in Cubi, No kickback for Payumo," "The Cubi port (development) poses a clear and present danger to Olongapo City," "Tutulan ang port (development) ni Payumo, dulot nito'y kapahamakan sa mga taga-Olongapo," and "Stop irresponsible port (development) at SBMA."
Streamers
But people entering the freeport will also be greeted by anti-Gordon streamers.
