PRESIDENT MACAPAGAL-Arroyo yesterday shared the optimism of most Filipinos who said they would welcome the New Year with hope rather than fear.
In her New Year message, Ms Macapagal said: "Every new year is a symbol of hope. It is time to nurture new dreams.''
The lat est Social Weather Stations survey release d on Tuesday showed that 90 percent of Filipinos were optimistic about their prospects in the new year.
The President said she would "continue to strive for good governance, food for each table, jobs, and peace and security in every community.
"I will continue to work for the good of the Filipino family and of the children, like the ones here, who remain hopeful that they will have a truly prosperous nation,'' the President said.
