MANGYAN folk continue to flock to the towns and city of Mindoro this Christmas season.

Yawin-ay Giayan, a leader of the Kapulungan para sa Lupaing Ninuno, a province-wide federation of Mangyans, has been going around the city and nearby towns, telling fellow Mangyans to return to the mountain and instead till the land.

"I've been telling them about this in the past six years but I can't stop them because they really make as high as P10,000 for one visit," he said.

Giayan, who is from the Bangon tribe in Bongabong town (south of Oriental Mindoro), however, points at the skin of the children who, he said, are the most affected in terms of health.
