THE ACTOR, finally, has chosen his leading lady.
Presidential candidate Fernando Poe Jr., speaking through Senate Minority Leader Vicente Sotto III, told the Inquirer yesterday that Senate Majority Leader Loren Legarda would be his running mate in the May 10 elections.
"I have been authorized by FPJ to make the announcement today," Sotto said, as he confirmed that Legarda was the unanimous choice of the opposition Koalisyon ng Nagkakaisang Pilipino.
The announcement came some two weeks after opposition Sen. Aquilino Pimentel Jr. described Poe's candidacy as a "super typhoon."
"This is (storm) signal No. 1," Sotto said.
