JOE KERNEN, CNBC ANCHOR: Surging crude prices put alternative energy providers like KFx on investors` radar screens, but with oil and natural gas prices declining, is demand for alternative sources like KFx`s clean coal also declining? Joining us now, Mark Sexton, chairman and CEO of KFx , which as of today will be renamed Evergreen Energy.

Not a bad move, Mark. Rename it Evergreen at 9, and they won`t remember KFx was at 16 about three weeks ago, right? What the heck happened in the last three weeks?

MARK SEXTON, CHMN. & CEO, EVERGREEN ENERGY: Well, the company has obviously been under attack by people who are not looking out for the best interest of the shareholders.

KERNEN: That is interesting. Really, like who?

SEXTON: The people who are attacking us obviously are putting out information in the marketplace that is simply not true. And of course, we are going to ask that we be judged on...
